teamTBB's Iron Season

There’s an excellent story on the team in the August issue of Inside Triathlon, with some great insight on Brett Sutton and his approach to coaching. He doesn’t want world champions, he wants to build them. The women on the squad have seven iron victories so far this season.

And he obviously believes that some athletes perform better the more they race:

Hillary Biscay has raced seven iron distance races so far this season: Wisconsin, Wanaka, Malaysia, Arizona, Brazil, Roth and Lake Placid. [She has two seconds, two thirds and one fourth among other podium places.]

Bella Comerford has six iron race finishes so far this season: Florida, WA, New Zealand, South Africa, Lanzarote and Austria, plus UK 70.3. [She won in South Africa and Lanzarote, and was second in Austria.]

Erika Csomor has raced iron events in Arizona and Roth, plus 70.3’s in Austria, California and Switzerland. [She won Arizona and was second in Roth.]

Belinda Granger has raced China, Malaysia and Roth, plus Quelle Challenge France, a half iron. She won both China and Malaysia. [She won China and Malaysia and went Sub Nine in Roth.]

One could say Chrissie Wellington is lazy, having raced just twice: Port Macquarie and Frankfurt. [She won both races.]
